Our all school concert was last Wednesday and the kids did a fantastic job! We sang songs from "Around the World at Christmas Time!" I was so grateful for the helpful parents who shewed children into their waiting spots and the awesome teachers for helping the kids back stage and getting onto their riser positions. With 600 plus kids, it can be a bit tricky. :) I love my school! O.k., so now it's time to get Christmas together and do the baking thing (round 2) and the scrambling to finish up last minute shopping! I'm so grateful for music! With all the wonderful music it keeps me sane through this crazy time; performing and listening!

O.k. it's been a while, one year, to be exact, but who's noticing? Well, my efforts to maintain our blog will be better this year. I was experimenting with downloading old photos this week, wait and see what next week holds for the Leighs.

Seth, my sister, Amy and I, all just completed our very first Sprint Triathlon in Casa Grande, on Nov. 1st. It was very cool! We swam 400 meters, biked 10.3 miles and ran, well walked, in all honesty, 3 miles. I felt such a wonderful surge of energy that whole weekend and a great sense of accomplishment, that now I want to do another! So we are in training for a second Sprint Triathlon in March, in Lake Havasu, literally. This time we'll be swimming 500 meters in the lake. Yikes. The biking will be more hilly and more of a challenge this time around, so the training will be crucial! The sad thing is that there is no proof of our first, other than the cell pics! Rats! So, next time around, we'll remember to document.

Newbie Blogger

Welp, I'm now on the techno bandwidthwagon trying out this "blogging" thing that everyone's been doing. So, as an initial blog, in case you're interested, our family has been living in the Queen Creek area now for 2 years. Kristin is teaching general music and band, yep, band, yikes, at the Benjamin Franklin Charter School Crismon campus, about 5 miles from our home, and loving it! Seth is working for Sun Microsystems still, out of his cave in the basement for the past two years, and in Burlington Massachusettes for the past 5 years. Jasmine, 15 years old, has just started her High School career at Desert Ridge High School. And is playing cello with the Phoenix Youth Symphonette, after enjoying two years with Metropolitan Youth Symphony. She is on her 3rd year with Kristin's old cello teacher, Debra Pearson, and loves lessons, cello, piano, singing in our ward choir, and everything musical! Our little Italian Greyhounds, Chiggy and Veda are keeping us busy and our life quite interesting! The photographer in our family, Seth, will hopefully post pictures, as I am completely not the talented photographer that he is. So, more to come, I know you're all on the edge of your chairs.................................................................................ttfn, Kristin :)
